Roshni, an art platform for differently abled individuals by Suhani Kedia

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

Attending a dance and musical performance is always an exciting experience, but hosting one can be an even more rewarding opportunity. My recent experience hosting Roshni, a dance and musical show that features children with disabilities from low-economic backgrounds, left a lasting impact on me.

As a host, I was responsible for introducing the performers and keeping the audience engaged throughout the show. It was an incredible honour to be part of such a meaningful event and to play a role in bringing these talented children's performances to the audience.

As the performance began, I was captivated by the energy and enthusiasm of the children. They danced and sang with such passion and joy, and it was clear that they had put in countless hours of hard work and practice. As the host, I had the opportunity to introduce each act and to share a little bit about the performers' backgrounds and achievements.

What struck me most about the performance was the sense of inclusion and community bonding. The show had brought together people from all backgrounds, and there was a sense of unity and solidarity in the amphitheatre. The children with disabilities had been given a platform to showcase their talents and abilities, and it was a truly inspiring sight to see.

As the show came to an end, the children took their final bows to thunderous applause. I felt a tremendous sense of pride and gratitude, knowing that I had played a small part in bringing this amazing event to life.

Hosting Roshni was an incredibly rewarding experience, and it gave me a newfound appreciation for the transformative power of the arts. It was heartening to see the positive impact that this event had on the performers and the audience alike. It also reminded me of the importance of supporting underprivileged children and providing opportunities for them to showcase their talents.

In conclusion, Roshni was much more than just a dance and musical show. It was a celebration of diversity and inclusion, a testament to the human spirit and the power of the arts. As a host, I was fortunate to be part of such an inspiring event and to witness firsthand the impact that it had on those involved. I hope to continue to be involved in similar initiatives in the future and to contribute to creating a more inclusive and welcoming world.
