Concern India Foundation has installed 172 kW of solar power across seven BMC schools in Mumbai, bringing clean, renewable energy to school rooftops and making sustainability part of everyday school life. Beyond powering classrooms, the initiative gives students a visible, hands-on example of how renewable energy can contribute to a greener future. The Mumbai installation builds on Concern’s ongoing efforts to help educational institutions transition to clean energy. To date, we have installed 5553.14kW of solar power in 101 schools across multiple cities in India. By helping schools adopt renewable energy, Concern India Foundation is contributing to learning spaces that are not only equipped for today’s needs but are also helping inspire a more sustainable tomorrow.

Concern Celebrated Global Volunteering Month with its Corporate Partner; volunteers across India came together to make a meaningful difference in the communities through a series of creative and engaging activities organised by Concern India Foundation. From painting school walls in Mumbai and creating bird feeders in Hyderabad to glass bottle painting activities with children and community groups across Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore, over 260 volunteers dedicated their time, creativity and enthusiasm to support community engagement and environmental awareness. These initiatives went beyond volunteering; they created opportunities for connection, learning, and shared experiences, while reinforcing the power of collective action to build stronger communities.

As part of an upcoming CSR initiative with our partner, Concern will set up a computer laboratory and introduce digital learning resources at a Zilla Parishad School in Palghar district, Maharashtra. This initiative will equip students from underserved communities with access to technology-enabled learning and modern educational resources, helping them build essential skills for the future and improve their learning outcomes. By strengthening technology infrastructure in schools, we aim to bridge the digital divide and create an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Six digital smart classrooms across two schools in Rajasthan are transforming the learning experience for students through interactive and engaging education. By bringing lessons to life and improving access to knowledge, the initiative is nurturing curiosity, creativity and brighter opportunities for young learners.

Five government schools in Jaipur are now powered by solar energy, creating cleaner and more sustainable learning spaces for students. With a combined 40 kWp solar capacity, the project is reducing electricity costs, strengthening school resources, and nurturing a generation with greater awareness of sustainability and climate responsibility.

The upgraded Public Health Centre at Vaitarna is now ready to serve as a lifeline for 14 villages in Nashik. Strengthened with improved infrastructure, essential medical equipment and upgraded facilities, the PHC will bring quality healthcare closer to nearly 19,623 people — creating healthier, stronger and more resilient rural communities.
